VMT, Web Development with a Community Commitment Vision Multimedia Technologies, LLC (VMT) specializes in developing web-based software and designing multimedia applications. This includes basic website and e-commerce development, content management, database development and multimedia presentations. These solutions are targeted to make VMT's customers' business processes and marketing efforts more efficient and cost effective. Brian Razzaque founded VMT in 1998 during his sophomore year at Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Razzaque had been designing websites and performing consulting services for various University departments and decided to open a business to meet these demands. With an initial focus on small business and e-commerce websites, the company has since grown into a successful IT consulting firm. VMT was initially a small operation conducting business from Mr. Razzaque's Charles Village residence. As demands for services increased, VMT expanded first into an office downtown on Saint Paul Street and then to a larger office on Charles Street. Continued growth finally resulted in VMT's current location at 5209 York Road, a few minutes north of the harbor. VMT was founded in Baltimore due to Mr. Razzaque's studies. VMT has remained here because Baltimore has proven to be an excellent place to grow a business. Baltimore boasts an extremely talented workforce to draw from, as well as a friendly culture among the business community. Utilizing ties to Mr. Razzaque's alma mater and contacts at other area universities, VMT has established a successful college intern program, which provides participants with real world training and experience and VMT with extremely capable student interns. VMT is proud to be a part of the Baltimore community and is dedicated to its advancement. VMT has created websites and performed consulting services for a variety of Baltimore's non-profit organizations, either at a discounted rate or as a charitable donation. These organizations include The Carson Scholars Fund, Centro de la Comunidad, Frederick Ozanam House, and Share Our Strength. Since inception, VMT has been funded through capital provided by Mr. Razzaque, as well as the continued profits of ongoing operations. VMT's success has allowed the company to grow from one employee with revenues of $25,000 three years ago to its current state of 15 full-time employees and projected revenues of $1.2 million in 2001. Large customers include The Johns Hopkins University, WRC-TV NBC4 Washington, NHL Bubble Hockey, and Global Express Money Orders. VMT also provides services to a variety of smaller clients, including law firms, retail shops, and other local businesses.
