Columbia-based MICROS Systems, Inc., was founded in 1977 and has
become the world's leading developer of enterprise applications
serving the hospitality industry. The company's products are used
in restaurants, hotels, and entertainment facilities in over 130

platforms such as Windows 95/NT and UNIX and are recognized in
the hospitality industry for their ease of use. MICROS also
offers its custom designed hardware developed specifically for
the harsh environments of the hospitality industry.
MICROS is a public company, traded on NASDAQ. For its
last fiscal year ended June 30, 2000, revenue was $359.7
million with a net income for the year was $16.2. The company
has made four major acquisitions since 1999, acquiring
