Full-service Interactive Design Agency, The Berndt Group, LTD The Berndt Group is a full-service interactive design agency that began in 1991, and has grown to a 21-person shop. John Berndt started the Berndt Group while in his early 20's with the idea that he wanted to work in a collaborative intellectual environment surrounded by people he strongly respects. When the web emerged in 1993, John's entrepreneurial spirit was fired up and his dream truly became possible. Since the Berndt Group's inception the Company has grown and survived the downturn in the digital economy without any layoffs. Its stability in the interactive design field has made it one of the oldest and best-respected web developers in Baltimore. The Berndt Group has designed and produced high profile sites for national clients like The Sports Authority, Bellsouth, BlueCross BlueShield, General Electric, SafeNet, as well as for local clients like The Rouse Company, Network Technology Group, and Mercy Hospital. The Berndt Group has received several awards for its web site designs and has built large-scale commerce and database projects for a number of local and national companies. The Company provides an integrated set of creative services, including strategic consulting, brand development, website design and production, application and database development, and multimedia. Typical projects span across a variety of creative and technical fields and the Company has an unusually integrated approach to bringing these disciplines together. For instance Hanover, MD-based SafeNet, one of the world's largest Internet security companies, engaged Berndt to help rethink their branding. The project included renaming the company from "IRE" to "SafeNet, Inc. - The Foundation of Internet Security" and redesigning their web site, which features sophisticated searching, content management for easy updates, and customer service components. Since the successful launch of that site, the Berndt Group has assisted SafeNet in producing corporate video, Flash animation, and most recently eCommerce to deliver both their products and services over the web. The services that The Berndt Group provides to SafeNet have a unified design and strategic vision, but draw on Berndt's extremely broad capabilities in a variety of media. The Company likes to say that it has remained strong because of the determination, creativity and character of the individuals who work there and the sheer breadth of what the team can deliver.
