AppReach, Keeping Applications Handy

Jack, a top corporate salesman, and his prospective client sit across from each other at a trendy local coffee bar. "Jack you've sold me. Great presentation," says the prospect, "Now, how long will it take to get the ball rolling?" With that Jack pulls out a small wireless device, punches a few keys and responds, "I just checked our inventory, confirmed the price I quoted you and placed your order. It will ship in 48 hours."

The client says," You just did all that with a two-way pager?" "Yes," Jack responds. "With the new software from AppReach I can do all that and more without ever connecting to our server."

Don't be surprised if you overhear a conversation similar to this the next time you're out for coffee.

AppReach, Inc., a company located in Baltimore provides wireless software that extends the capabilities of a company's existing Siebel Systems packaged applications to specific wireless devices. AppReach's flagship product, A)rwave (pronounced Airwave), allows mobile workers to access customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) data using the popular RIM Wireless Handheld device.

AppReach CEO Mark Milligan founded the company in 2000 after holding executive level positions with such companies as USInternetworking, Blackboard and Price WaterHouse Management Consulting Services. Milligan recognized a need for mobile workers to access enterprise applications without using a web browser or a Windows-based personal computer.

With AppReach's solution, employees, partners and customers can use a set of pre-built lists and detail screens on the wireless device to update their CRM and ERP data for items such as account, opportunity, activity, service requests, invoices, time entry and contracts regardless of their location.

Although still a new company, AppReach has forged relationships with some very strong strategic partners. The most recent is Siebel Systems (Nasdaq: SEBL), which integrated AppReach's wireless CRM solution into the latest version of Siebel eBusiness Applications. AppReach also has a partnership with Aether Systems, Research In Motion(RIM), GoAmerica and Microsoft.
