a2z, Inc. Organize Events and Conferences
a2z, Inc. got its start in March of 1998 in the one-bedroom
apartment of its founders, Rajiv and Hima Jain. A couple of
computers, Rajiv's programming skills, and Hima's web design
skills got husband and wife started toward pursuing their
dream-to own a successful company of their own.
Early products included a2zClass, an online learning application
that has been used to create several continuing education courses,
and a2zShow, software for managing and marketing trade shows and
conferences. a2z has since expanded its product line to include
a stand-alone event registration package called a2zReg, a package
designed specifically for smaller gatherings called a2zMeetings,
and a package for creating e-mail, fax, and direct mail campaigns
called a2zMarketing.
All of a2z's web based software helps event organizers to better
manage and market their events. With this software, a2z's
clients can create online registration forms, sell booth space
through an online floor plan, manage the floor plan itself,
accept abstracts and presentation proposals online, create
financial reports, put courses or seminars on the web, create
virtual exhibit halls, provide travel, housing, and host city
info on a website, send e-mail marketing pieces, and streamline
or automate many other elements of the event planning and
marketing processes.
a2z is now located in the Howard County NeoTech Incubator, which
offers hands-on management assistance and other helpful resources
to new businesses. The main goal of the NeoTech Incubator is to
graduate businesses that are financially viable and self-
sufficient. So far, a2z has been doing quite well-the company is
self-funded, has been steadily expanding its client base, is
profitable, and was named Maryland's "Best e-Business of the Year"
in 2001. a2z is also one of the incubator's largest tenants
with 10 full time employees in the building. The company also has
one full time employee working remotely from India, several part-
time employees, and a handful of resellers.
a2z has several high-profile international clients including the
American Heart Association, Hannover Fairs USA, the Trade Show
Exhibitors Association, the Greater Washington Society of
Association Executives and the American Health Care Association.
a2z's web based software is accessible from anywhere around the
globe, and can be used to maintain a website in multiple languages,
which has made it possible for a2z to create solutions for trade
shows in France, Germany, Mexico and Japan. a2z does shows close
to home, too. Most recently, a2z signed a deal with Bethesda-
based EJ Krause to provide online software and registration for
the 2002 Maryland Technology Showcase.
